BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1992 in northern Portugal, Tiago is a musician, composer, and performer whose work spans a broad range of practices, from solo creation to diverse collaborative contexts. With over a dozen releases across various bands and artistic projects on both national and international labels, his music has been presented on stages and tours throughout Europe. Under his own name, Tiago’s work brings together guitar and electronics, exploring richly textured, atmospheric sound worlds shaped by Portuguese traditional music.
Over the years, he has collaborated with artists such as TOKiMONSTA, HOLLY, and FKA Jazz (GRAMMY Awards nominees), as well as Conan Osíris, Noiserv, Adolfo Luxúria Canibal, Eliën, Cláudia Guerreiro (Linda Martini), and João Mortágua, with whom he will release his debut solo record POMES in 2026. In 2025, he was invited to take part in Festival da Canção as a composer, presenting Voltas, performed by Rita Sampaio.
As a composer, his work moves across a range of contexts and artistic languages. He composed the score for the dance video piece Alongside, with choreography and direction by Olaf Kollmannsperger and Filipa Cavaco (Staatsballett Berlin). He collaborated with fashion designer Veehana, creating music for two collections presented at ModaLisboa in 2021 and 2022. His theatre work includes compositions for Treat Your Self by Maria Luís Cardoso and Dramaticulos de Samuel Beckett, directed by Renata Portas.
He composed the original score for the short film Parallèle (2021), directed by Michael Karnow (CatDog, Alphas, Jeff 1000) and André Alves, and has also performed a live cine-concert version of Häxan. In 2021, his project St. James Park was invited by Silvana Torricella to score Glória, followed by O Abafador (2022), starring João Cachola and Maria Leite. He also contributed with the music to a work by Isabel Cordovil, commissioned by the FARRA festival in Elvas, now part of the António Cachola collection.
He is also co-founder of the Fenda and Este-Oeste festivals, and coordinates Fenda Academy, an educational programme expanding access to the arts. In 2025 he co-founded Do.w, a creative hub with his partner Susana Mendes, a space for workshops and experimentation across visual and musical practices in Braga, and is a founding member of Colectivo Fontes, which develops community-based artistic work through exploratory and experimental approaches. In parallel, he works as a guest lecturer at IPCA, teaching sound and visual design.
His work is driven by an ongoing interest in new sonic languages and forms of expression, contributing to expanding how music is created, experienced, and shared.
